Golden Treasure

It is the last day of January and unseasonably warm.  Outside my daffodils are a bit too early to rise, and while I wait inside for spring and its bursts of colorful surprises in my yard, I am kept company by my orchids.  What is not to love about these steadfast and loyal blooms?  Orchids are the one indulgence that I happily succumb to.  They dot my house in the expected and unexpected places.  I must have one to greet me at the door, another in the powder room reflected in the mirrors, and another perched on the coffee table amidst an otherwise African Bush feeling living room above the Zebra and below the Gemsbok. Of all the colors and vareities this is my favorite.  Baldan’s Kaleidoscope Golden Treasure.  Yellow orange with redish purple stripes.  A perfect companion to my great grandfather’s brass spittoon!
