Pop! The Trunk

It’s a new year, and time to jump off fresh. I have been negligent in posting to my blog, but not for a lack of having something to say!  At last glance, I was focused on my growing surplus of clothes, and had at least acknowledged that I needed to purge. I also think I was afraid I was going to get sandwiched between clothing racks in my hallway never to be heard from again. Not a bad way to go, but also not ideal. The closets and dressers and things that were never designed to be clothing racks were bursting and overloaded. Admittedly, it is hard for me to let go of some of my most fabulous and unique fashion finds. I suppose one thing that a woman’s ever changing body over the years from her 30s to her 40s will do is inject a sour dose of reality.  Face it sister you ain’t wearing THAT ever again. Nevertheless, the fashion huntress that I am still had to sit and fondly reminisce about the hunts on Saturday mornings that led to some of these great finds. . . Ahh the satisfaction. I was even tempted more than once to start trying everything on again, JUST in case. But I snapped myself out of the day dream of days gone by and reminded myself there was money to be made. Money that NEEDED to be made. So I set off to sell, sell, sell and along with my best Fashionista partner in crime we came up with our one day clothing sale — Pop! The Trunk.  A Sunday afternoon, in a downtown loft space, with a hot bartender serving champagne, custom cookies, good music playing, and racks and racks and racks of fabulous clothes and shoes and handbags and accessories.  It was a super fun afternoon with ladies snapping up bargains and sipping champagne.  Of course there were others who just sipped champagne and flirted with Alex the bartender.  But oh what fun!  And what a way to get a taste of your our personal retail life and the appetites of women in Washington, DC for great fashion finds and advice on “how to.”

Over a year has gone by, and it is time to gear up for Pop! Part Deux especially after many requests from ladies about town for a do over.  In the meantime, I have put a few items online through Tradesy.com and I am also planning to sell through the Square Marketplace — Sheffield’s –>> Where Southern Charm Meets Haute Couture. Stay tuned.  I have a lot of great things that still have a lot of life left in them!  Why not share?
